As some of you know, I have recently become an overseas Pinoy now living abroad in Sydney, Australia with my family. I know how the constant barrage of foreign accents, languages, and the alienation of living in another country can get some of us depressed and wishing for the familiarity of ‘home’. Nakakalungkot talaga. Kamusta.com will try its best to bring home to you wherever you are. We will also be giving you the best advice from knowledgeable kababayans who can help you navigate in your new situation.
So what are you waiting for? Make sure you bookmark this site now and visit us as often as you can. We guarantee you that we will constantly update this site so that you can always be connected to home.
Daghang salamat!
Jim Paredes

Jim, it was sad to read your sunday 11May 2008 Coming Home. I must admit that you speak with eyes open and a heart for this country.
I am like you. I travel every year to sydney (i just arrived last sunday) and yes I too always feel sad when I'm back in Manila. Parents and siblings with their families live in sydney.
What can I say but your points if ever you are in a position to run this country is exactly like mine 26yrs ago (when I returned to the Philippines). But first, vote or choose better 'barangay captains' they are the culprits to all anomalies. They allowed bad politicians to gain strength and be elected.
Though I must say, our Education results are better than Australia. Did you know that in the lower grades you can't fail a child? Anyway, they have good points and we also have good points.
Lets unplug the social system, Our Elders, kawawa naman. Our medicines sobrang mahal...nakaw na yan.
A right to make business in this country has no business if they don't take care of the facade, garbage and employment benefits. Lets start this way first.
If nursing is a skilled course, why can't we hire skilled Policemen? Barangay Tanods, Open free schools for them and bring them to graduate with Self confidence and Self worth.
Sorry Jim, like you I was opened to write my views and I've been following your write ups when able......just caught me, because its Mother's Day, I feel powerful even for only a DAY.
See you's. always grateful, bidang
Hey Bidang,
Ang daming dapat gawin dito sa Pilipinas. Hopefully, my list is a start. And yes, policemen must be better educated and trained, like nurses.
Dear Jim!
Im the most excited when i heard that you are now a part of Kamusta. i can't tell you enough how much i enjoy reading your Sunday articles on the Philippine Star! (You and panjee actually
).
Can't wait to read everything and anything! By the way, will you blog everyday? once a week?

Mabuhay ang lahat ng mga Global Pinoy na nag-na-nais lamang na makatulong sa kani-kanilang mga pamilya at mahal sa buhay.

Mabuhay!
My friends still do the Ms Universe Mabuhay song/dance routine
ask 'em questions about Ms Universe, bilis ng sagot, parang Quiz Bee!
Kung sa karaoke naman para may twist, name an artist first (for kikays usually Pilita Corrales, you'll know why later) then click random, if they decide let's say Nora Aunor then the song at random is Oops I Did it Again.. you have to sing Oops ala Nora Aunor hahahaha
I dont know the exact figures but I have a feeling that we have a kababayan in every hospital here in the United Kingdom.
One time at the very busy A&E Dept (aka ER), my friend was calling out at the reception.."Vilma Santos, Ms Vilma Santos, you're next, pls bring Lucky"
Kahit na pagod na pagod sa trabaho, patawa pa rin sila!
Thank you for this site Sir Jim.
Pinoys really have a sense of humor.
